Welcome!

I am a licensed psychologist in private practice in Brookline, MA, and the co-director of the Cambridge Center for Gender Relations, a consulting company focused on improving personal and professional relationships between men and women.

My approach to psychotherapy is collaborative, positive, and solution-focused, with a focus on overcoming negative experiences and beliefs through a combination of insight into your issues and practical strategies that will help you deal more effectively with difficult issues in your life. I work with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress management problems, and relationship issues, as well as couples.  I also help people who are in transition either personally or professionally and need some assistance in exploring alternatives.

As a consultant in gender relations, I run trainings, workshops, and seminars on ways to improve relationships between women and men in the work place, in the classroom, and in personal relationships. I take a non-blaming and gender balanced approach to the topic and use a combination of experiential exercises, focus groups, and psycho-education to help participants develop healthier attitudes and behaviors toward the other gender. I am available to work with therapists who wish to understand more about the impact of gender roles in their work with clients and have edited a book on this topic.

I am currently President of the Division of the Psychology of Men and Masculinity of the American Psychological Association.  In my presidential year (2017), I will be focusing on creating greater collaboration with organizations within APA and with external organizations with similar interests in gender issues.
